This is another investment, following the promenade and the Toddler Park, being created as part of the Green-Blue Pobiedziska project. The City Park will cover an area of 6,170.0 square meters, of which greenery will constitute 3,140.0 sqm.
One of the first activities to be undertaken by Garte-Polska is the demolition and disposal of the concrete fence. Then, zones of the park will be designated, the surface of green areas and walking alleys prepared.
During the works, staircases on slopes, an entrance gate, pergolas, a pedestrian bridge, benches, trash bins, information boards, and plant boxes will be created. The park will be illuminated by seventeen solar lamps. Native species of trees such as oak, hornbeam, rowan, linden, pine, and willow will be planted.
„We also plan to renaturalize the existing ditch between the two lakes. Everything we do in this project is important for the environment and aims to improve the quality of life in the city. Further plantings and rainwater retention will improve resilience to climate change,” explains Ireneusz Antkowiak, Mayor of the City and Municipality of Pobiedziska.
The idea to create a park in Pobiedziska came from the young residents of the municipality, who wrote a petition on this matter and then met with the Mayor.
The „Green-Blue Pobiedziska” project is implemented by the Pobiedziska Municipality in partnership with INTBAU Norway. www: zielono-niebieskie.pobiedziska.pl e-mail: zielono-niebieskie@pobiedziska.pl.
The investment is co-financed from the funds of the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 within the program „Environment, Energy and Climate Change,” program area Climate.
