As part of the Green-Blue Pobiedziska Project, aimed at increasing the resilience of the Pobiedziska municipality to climate change through a series of actions to improve ecological awareness and behaviors of residents, a range of educational activities were planned, including conducting workshops in schools. The project was implemented with the support of a partner from Norway – the non-governmental organization INTBAU.

The workshops covered a broad range of topics related to climate change and adaptation to its effects. The workshop themes focused on climate change and included various methods and tools tailored to the target group in the project – grades 1-4 and 5-8.

Classes were held in primary schools, for which the Pobiedziska municipality is the governing body.

During the workshops, children gained knowledge about environmental protection and climate change through lectures, practical activities related to setting up a school garden, creating models of blue-green infrastructure, playing games, and taking walks. Involved teachers utilized diverse tools and innovative work methods.

Students were provided with additional attractions, such as inviting experts (e.g., gardeners, beekeepers, foresters, etc., who presented selected topics to the students), visits to gardening stores where they learned about tools essential in gardening work. Older classes, besides expanding their knowledge, created models utilizing renewable energy sources.

Everyone was highly engaged, students received honey plant seeds and gardening equipment, as well as bamboo speakers.
